The Hovercraft Club of Great Britain was formed in 1966 by a group of enthusiasts from the Isle of Wight, the home of the first SRN1 Hovercraft

The Hovercraft Club of Great Britain is the UK National Club for anyone interested in the development of light Hovercraft for recreational purposes. The Club is a founder member of the European Hovercraft Federation.

DEVELOPMENT


Many members build their own craft which are then used for racing or cruising. Over the past 30 years the technical expertise within the Club has grown immeasurably and is available to all members in a range of specialised publications or on a more personal level through the members who are always willing to advise and assist.

At Race Meeting and other events such as demonstrations, the Club Information Caravan will be on site to provide General Information, Club Publications, Souvenirs and Handle Membership Applications.

MEMBERSHIP


Membership of the Hovercraft Club of Great Britain is by annual subscription, for this members receive a monthly magazine containing interesting articles on technical and constructional advice, news from the National branches and adverts for a wide range components and second hand craft. PUBLICATIONS


The Hovercraft Club of Great Britain produces a number of publications relating to the construction and operation of light hovercraft. All publications are available by mail order, or from the information trailer at Hovercraft Club events. TECHNICAL SUPPORT


The Hovercraft Club provides a technical service for members through Racing and Cruising scrutineering committees. In all activities organised by the Club, the emphasis is put on safety and careful use of Hovercraft. Details of the Club Technical Support service can be obtained from;

MEETINGS


The various organising committees of the Hovercraft Club meet on a regular basis to discuss both technical and management aspects of the Club, a list of current meetings can be found on our events page and also on the front page.

General Council Committee responsible for the overall management of the Hovercraft Club.
Scrutineering Technically qualified members responsible for racing and cruising Hovercraft safety aspects.
