Kinda off topic....Van/car insurance?

Can anyone help us with this little problem:



We have a VW caravelle 2001 TDI and find it hard to get anyone to insure it because they cant decide if its a car or a van..(It does only have 7 seats!)



The company we are currently with will not insure me on it until I have been driving for a year. http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_mad.gif (We have no problems adding me to the insurance on a 1.6 KA...which goes a lot faster than the VW tank!)



Has anyone had any experience of trying to insure this kind of vehicle?





Basically I want to be able to drive it to cruising events but we are struggling to find insurance..any ideas?

I've had similar roblems with my Nissan vanette, but I have finally convinced Norwich Union that it's a station waggon- You might try that line.



Alternatively get a letter from VW that clarifies their intention as the manufacturer

if you do it online you have to enter the reg number,



this will generate a quote based on that...try confused.com they do all the leg work.



alternitivly contact Adrian Flux insurance, they cover this type of thing.. and if you go for a limited milage policy, you may get it on a cheaper rate
