I'm new to all this, just picked up my first hovercraft yesterday after wanting one for years.

Does anyone know what it is or anything about it.

I picked it up from North wales and it currently has a Honda 400cc V4 engine but it looks like it had another engine originally.

Is it suitable for any racing??

It's an eagle- see K+M Products under the suppliers tab

the craft could be raced in Formula 3- this one may be an old Sue Goldney craft- 103= third in Formula 3 in the year before it was last raced

Yup, Deffinately an old eagle3 from K&M products! I had one of those as my first craft and spent ages and ages rebuilding it from the ground up. (Nice hull to work on)

If you want any photos of the innards of the hull I can quite easily bore you to death http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif

Pictures would be great as its got a few cracks in the bottom that need patching and it would be nice to see how its held together.

I'm happy to be bored to death when it comes to toys like this http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_lol.gif

This is dragging up a post from the past.

The hovercraft has been sitting in the corner of the workshop for 2 years gathering dust.

But, at last, it fired into life on saturday http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_smile.gif

Made a new fuel tank tonight and have a bit of wiring to tidy up but I should be able to try it out soon.

I bumped into Kip a while ago and he's had a good look round and pointed a few things out. Someone else also came down to have a look but I'm afraid I've completely forgotten the name.

I'm getting really excited agin now....

On a slightly different angle - your nearest group to meet with are the South Downs Twig. We meet at the Fox and Hounds just outside Haywards Heath on the Ditchling Road on the first Thursday of the month. Just one problem - we will not be meeting again until 4th September at 7.30. Various members sloping off to France for the Rhone Raid or holidays and then on to Sweden for the World Championships!
