Hello. does anyone tune the B&S vanguard V twin

without the use of higher rpm? I have heard

that a moderate (10 degree) increase in static

ignition timing can yield a small improvement. Any

info appreciated

Vortex services can sort you out with a mod kit for either the 20 or the 22, to take it to 28. It doesn't effect the peak rpm though. SPeak to keith, he can sort you out.

Bear in mind tho, the 31 and 35's are available now. 35bhp, bog standard 3600rpm with a guarantee?

Takes a bit of beating realistically.

Hello, i like the idea of improving anything from standard as in the previous reply. I also take your point about keeping things stock and having the piece of mind that this gives. I suppose its down to disposable income and preference. I'll have to settle with the 16hp Vanguard for the SEV for now and if it turns out to be pants (its not complete yet) then saving for a 20/23hp intek or Vanguard will begin in ernest (thats the piggy bank). As far as tweaking i am always hopefull of some neat trick of the trade or suchlike that'll give a little extra power/economy but then aren't we all?. Thanks
