ok i'm the first to admit that over that last couple of weeks i've been struggling with getting my engine set up correctly , so i was flicking about today on the old net and came across a site called " how stuff works " ......typed in 2 stroke engine ....and now i understand them abit better ( well i understand why certain things are important now anyway ) so if like me your new to using 2 stroke engine , may be worth your while in checking this site out !!!

http://www.howstuffworks.com/index.htm (www.howstuffworks.com/index.htm)

hope this helps someone out anyway

Hello Daz,

actually , most of us have problems with 3- strokes engines......

Rattle-rattle- paf- rattle-rattle-pefff-rattle-prottt-pef-rattle.....

That means 2 strokes inside and one outside cylinder.

Very interesting site.

Unfortunately, it' s uneasy to find a site that explains how to fix a rattling %?=§FU?^k?§;ing+= engine.

Welcome on our greasy world.

once you've grasped the 2 stroke principle i'll tell you about the chieftain tank engines i used to work on

a 32 litre 2-stroke scavenge supercharger diesel - 2 cranks - no cylinder head

anyone else experienced wierd engines ?

so only slightly larger than a tzr motor then ah ! http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_eek.gif

just never realised how much could affect the running of one is all

think i'll stick to wires !

Ah now wires - that's where i fall down

bought a brand new generator last year - tested it - OK

got it out the garage at the weekend - started 2nd pull - engine runs fine but no electricity ??????? quick look no obvious wires hanging off - not a clue why it doesn't work

god i hate electricity

hi mick

me and electricity have a good understanding - if i don't touch it = it don't touch me !

think i misled you there, this is a 240V generator for the camper

i might bring it along to the race meeting and see if a 'lecky person can suss it

i was under the impression that two strokes never 'worked' more sort of went when and how they pleased http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_razz.gif http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif

My thoughts on the matter....

4 strokes work "because of"

2 strokes work "in spite of"
