I'm preparing to conduct some tests on the strength of a novel duct construction. An essential part of the test is to benchmark the existing types of construction.

So - what are the typical duct constructions? I would be especially interested in constructions that are known to withstand blade failures. I would appreciate any information (in confidence and via PM if considered proprietary) so that I can make a test sample, or even better would be a two 15" square test samples.

The regs call for 6 layers of 450gm CSM, is anyone actually using that weight of construction?

standard duct, and the good old bit of rope trick!

seems to work very well!
