I WOULD LIKE TO ANNOUNCE THE THEFT OF HOV POD TONIGHT 19th June from my home close to LANCASTER.

The HOV POD is quite recogniseable with, it features the Union Flag (union Jack) and has "Lucky 7" on each side towards the rear of the craft. It also features Blue and Red skirts with the odd yellow thrown in for good measure. The Skirts were on the tired side and would need changing soon, the rest is in tip top shape and all set for selling which I was doing via eBay today of all coincidences.

I would really appreciate it if anyone hears or see's anything which may look out of the ordinary or indeed is offered a Hov Pod for sale or has a request for parts / skirts etc to either contact myself on 07785 247 021 or Lancaster Police on 01524 63333.

There isn't that many Hovercraft flying around the UK and certainly not too many distinctive looking Hov Pod's so surely at some point it is going to rear it's head and hopefully we can snare the scumbags that have stolen her.

Your assistance in spreading the word is very much appreciated and I thanks everyone in advance.

The picture was taken on Sunday.

Here's hoping??

Some people are total K***s.....why cant they just save up like the rest of us!

Just out of interest, did they have to forcefully remove any security device to take it away?

HI, yes they had to remove a device fitted to the tralier coupling which now appears to have been inadequate... I'm gutted.

Cheers anyway,

Just a thought as you have it on ebay why not leave it on for a while but go and edit it to say that its now been stolen and the police contact number as you have a huge audience on ebay.

Maybe even offer a reward.

Don' t forget to send pictures to Customs.

They have eyes everywhere, and you live in an island.

Yes, it is my advert, took me a bloody age to write it too! Thanks for all the advice etc, we actually live just next to Heysham Port and notified them immediately but of course it could be in the back of a container?

If we could all keep a look out for anyone trying to obtain skirts or psares in the future, I'm sure it will appear somewhere...?

Thanks again,

Andy

Unbelievable! Thats the third theft of hovers in three months.

My Dad had his trailer plus three Flying Fish Corporate craft stolen from Dover, then Richard Wiles' racer from Norfolk. Now yours from Lancaster.

Every corner of the country.

Dads turned up in Chichester on some dodgy geezers farm (who didn't know how on earth they got there - honest guv) Has anyone heard about Richards yet?

Think i may add a tracker to my new one.

Good luck getting it back, things happen in threes they say, so lets hope this is the end of it.

Did anyone ask for your contact details or address, and most importantly check with ebay if anyone has tried obtain or has requested your address.

Even if this is not the case a lesson for everyone to hide their contact details online, Ebay is becoming like a shopwindow for theives.

Goodluck.

It really is a must I think to fit a tracker or something simillar, then you have the satisfaction of catching the Scroats, this is more of te issue than the Hovercraft, it really is annoying to think someone has got one over me and taken my posessions... anyway, hopefully we will have it rear it's head soon? Regarding the e-Bay questions etc, the Hov Pod was listed on the Monday lunchtime and stolen in the early evening, nobody had asked questions regarding location, I think that this was a local operation, maybe even stolen to order?

Some people believe that it will surface in the "Cockling industry", Being based near Morecambe, this could be the case however there is currently a ban on cockling which means only the slightest chance of seeing people out on the sands until September.

Anyway, I hope to have some more positive news soon?

Hi there..

Dunno if you had any news with the HovPod?

I've seen a few 'suspicious' appearings of HovPods on eBay - and this is the latest:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HOVERCRAFT-HOVPOD52-NOT-BOAT-OR-JETSKI (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HOVERCRAFT-HOVPOD52-NOT-BOAT-OR-JETSKI_W0QQitemZ330004745445QQihZ014QQcategoryZ291 6QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) _W0QQitemZ330004745445QQihZ014QQcategoryZ2916QQrdZ 1QQcmdZVie wItem

Buy it now for 1350 for a craft that's done 40 hours?!? No specific location in the UK - approved bidders only - Hmmmmmm...

It's easy to get pics of HovPods on the net - and one assumes you would have to go and collect the machine - so...

Just thought it might be worth investigating.

Has any one seen the other items this person is selling?

All 1 day.

Go to feed back section.

find a buyer feedback.

Normally you can click on the item number and see what that person brought.

Strange nothing this person has bought or sold can be accessed.

Also no bids on any thing he's selling to be seen.

There's nothing unusual about the sellers feedback. Items can only be seen for 3 months from the auction end.

Very suspicious for other reasons tho. I seem to remember reading that description on another auction recently, and it says "New craft arrives early 2006" when it's already July.

As for the other items for sale, why are they all priced at 1350? A Suzuki GSX1300 for 1350 !! - you can pay nearly double that for the engine alone.

This might be a hijacked account being used to 'sell' non-existent items.

Just a scam, it'ns not a hov pod for sale. in fact, there's NOTHING there for sale, could read hov pod, jumbo jet or egg wisk. You send them the money, they nick it.

Its always the same old poor english, if they ever master that they may be dangerous.
