Folks, unbelievably, the three Flying Fish craft have been stolen again, just three months after getting them back following the last theft.

They were taken last night (Monday September 11th) from Dover. The thieves broke into a car that was blocking them in, moved a load of other stuff, including a trailer with no wheels that was obstructing them - and took the whole lot away.

Theres three craft on a yellow triple trailer. All GRP single seat Flying Fish with 22bhp Briggs & Strattons.

Colours as follows

Green with orange skirt

Yellow with blue trim

Purple with blue trim.

The green one can be seen in this pohoto - and this is the trailer - tho it no longer has the graphics on the side I believe.

Thanks

Hello Ivan and Russ?

Looks like if thieft have stolen them without a way to resell them, and now, they have a market for them. Must look at foreign offers where landscape is suitable.

And send pics to french customs, in front of Dover. In many harbors , they have safety cameras, to spy movements on parkings, but they do' nt keep them too long.

Friendly your.

This is pretty unbelievable, isn't it? Either it's just extremely bad luck, or maybe some scrote is out to get you, Russ.

Without wishing to suggest anything illegal, it's quite clear that these scrotes need teaching a lesson, as I have my doubts that the legal system will deal with them effectively, if they are caught (as they sureley must be, given the ease of identification of these craft).

I hope that you get them back quickly and that the scrotes get what they deserve. Happy to assist in dispensing a dose of this deserved justice, if needed...............

With so many craft sitting around the place and it having happened before did nothing show up on your security camera's ?.

Undoubtedly you have plenty of insurance so why not just use the free publicity and relaunch the craft with a name change, a couple that come to mind are Boomerang Bouncers or even Fleeing Fish.

If anything comes this way I will let you know.

Teach then a lesson, what we do here is chuck a non-lethal snake in the craft, make sure it cant get out too easily and then park it in a place where they can get to it easily.

Then wait.

What will scare the c**p out of them and will never touch your stuff again, then just leave a sign outside your place worning them. Snake or not.

Word will get around and you will get to keep all your stuff. http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_razz.gif

Hi Russ,

Very sorry to hear about this,

Can you tell us what sort of security did you have on the trailer to stop/slow them down? so that we can all learn what lengths the theiving scum will goto and what will/won't stop them?

Watching ebay & local papers closely

Jonathan

PS you can now get trailers microdotted for about 99, I'm thinking of using them on my trailer & hovercraft.... http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_mad.gif

Hi, really sorry 2 hear it Russ.

I get so p**sed of when this happens even though its not my craft http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_mad.gif .

Johnathan, there would really be no point in microdotting the craft and trailer as to be honest each hovercraft is unique so its easier to identify, and there arnt that many of them around in contrast to cars!

If people are going to these lengths something must be done. I mean i doubt they are going to be high tech wizard kids with james bond gagets? http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_mad.gif Wouldnt it be woth adding in a security camera, and paging alert alarm that basically calls you if the sensor is activated?

I know this is very worrying to hear this but these people are probably looking at this forum right now and seeing what extra improvements on security we might be thinking of? http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_eek.gif

Anyway, i hope u get them back Russ.

Nick, I wasn't really being serious about the microdots, but without positive proof of ownership its your word against the theifs......

The best security is of course to prevent our craft/trailers from being nickable(at the moment my trailer's in parts, which should slow them down). Which is why I asked Russ what measures he'd taken.

If you want to know how 'good' some of these toerags are, ask the Taylors, theives made off with their caravan despite wheelclamp & hitchlock etc without even waking their dogs!

PS I'm investing in a ground anchor plate set in Lava and a mighty chain made by dwarves.
