Pete,

What is this running in process anyway? Isn't it a relic from the last century when there were tolerances and final finishing had to be done by hand?

There may well be an official approved best method, but I, and no doubt many others here, have gone out to the start of a race with new rings and given them 10 minutes of full throttle.

To be honest, I would have thought that oil type, mixture, cooling efficiency, etc were more important factors in those 10 minutes.

Friends of mine are like that, they take their new engine that has just been bolted together nad run down the road on full throttle, if it makes i tdoen the road and back and is still in one piece, then they rekkon that it will last.

If not, they put it together wrong. http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_eek.gif

I think they are silly but none if their stuff seems to break and the one car can go to 9 000 easily. http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_eek.gif
