Are any of the trick plugs like these splitfire ones (on ebay: 120064429091) or similar actually any good?

They just look so shiny and i feel like my craft deserves a present...

In theory, the bigger the spark area the better the ignition, and plugs like this are used on a lot of cars now.

I'd concentrate on optimising the rest of the engine by means of a careful set-up before spending that kind of money on plugs. eg careful check of carbs, reed valves, wiring, plug gaps, exhaust etc etc can produce far more benefit than you're likely to get from these plugs
