Wow what a time did we have at the dam this christmas, How was all of yours?

We had a few problems with the craft, couple of days in the belt fell off, lucky if did'nt go into the fan. http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_redface.gif http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_redface.gif http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_redface.gif

Then 3rd day before home time, went for a cruise with my nephew and man what a cruise, we were moving over the water, the craft has never been that quick, cant say how fast but could feel the speed, you just know when you are going fast, http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif

However I wanted to know how fast, so looked for someone in a speedboat and, found one going in the other direction, spun round and went to catch him... Caught his wake and just like that lost cusion, ploughed in realy heavy and sideways too, almost threw me out, held on to Soris who is only 6 and in a life jacket that is a bit big for him, mine I had left on shore. Broke the stearing brackets and heard a cracking snapping sound as the craft stopped dead.. Decided that the best thing to do was head for shore ASAP, go back to find many of the pockets broken and a 20cm X 20cm hole broken out of the middle of the craft hull. How it got there? not sure. Also have cracked blades.

Had some expanding foam with so just sprayed that in the hole and chucked a piece of foil over to seal it. The joy of hovercraft, no matter what there is always a quick fix in a sticky spot.

Could have gone out again but decided that those cracked blades was not a good idea, so took them out, the next two days were rain and mist and cold so no fun lost.

Will have to repair the craft and all will be good again, but is it not amaizing what you can get away with in these amaizing machines, any other vehicle and that would be it for the holiday.

I also found a nice bank on the other side of where we were staying that had a great angle to it, so walked it through and took out any rocks and sticks and for the holiday it became that launch, Man ramping is fun, still need to get the weight further back on landing, but still that feeling of riding the air like that and the nose rising than staying up while everything in you says that it should have been down long ago.... MAN WHAT A FEELIN http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif

Cant wait till the end of the year when we go again...

Sorry no pics or video this time...

May you all have a great year....
