You would need to throw the engine away and start again as its only a 6 HP Honda so just about enough power for lift but nothing left for thrust http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_lol.gif

the craft has been relisted due to the guy having a heart attack

it reached 465(too rich for me)

http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_eek.gif Probably had the heart attack when he realised what had won was not going to work as it stands http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_lol.gif

Methinks you may have trouble finding something (as complete) for less than 465 but good luck trying http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif

i disagree!

have seen this craft on ebay for the last week or so, and it looks like a bit of a shed! the engine frame is ropey the engine is nowwhere near big enough for the thing to fly! its old wood construction and the skirt looks knackered! the seller obviously has never had this going!

for 500 quid you could make a plywood hull and put a duct and fan in it! and you would be better off, and probably learn much about hovercraft along the way!

Well lads lets have a tally up. I have built many craft from scratch. Lets add up some manufactures prices (est)

Hull 1200,duct 160,flow straightners 10 each, fan frame with blades bearings hubs etc 800,new skirt 400,engine rotax 503 2200,steering,trim etc.The list goes on! come on 500 quid bargin. Oh by the its not mine!!!!!!! some of mine did,nt look that good!!!!

95 quid for a 750mm duct from ken

54 quid for a set of 4z blades

i bought a hub shaft and pair of bearings off ebay a little while ago for 35 quid, but lets say 50.

that would leave 300 quid for plywood! seeing as thats 11 quid a sheet he might even put a skirt on it too lol!

lets face it, a 500 quid craft off ebay is going to be a shed, building canbe cheaper and can be more fun! ok a complete craft is going to be more, but from what i can see thats all thats servicable on that thing!

spending a little more on a second hand craft that truely is complete and will fly by the afternoon http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_smile.gif from a club member perhaps, is a better bet!

if its cheap and cheerfull or the apeal of a fixer upper is more of the original posters intention perhaps building a simple craft to cut his teeth is an idea?

perhaps your right...... sounds like your building a cracker of a craft... please bring it along to the severn cruise 27th sept there will be a track cut so home built craft can operate in safety.See you there.

Looking good!

Did you have special permission for the non-standard colour? Everyone knows sevtecs are white http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif

Come along in September, it was fantastic last year however I think you may want an engine upgrade before racing Bry! http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_twisted.gif

I will need to get my finger out and get the job done only prob is I cant make my mind up what to put back in

Is your sev ready to go cruising yet?

You should come up to the Scottish cruise this year

hi trev

the sev is lifting but theres nothing to push it along at the moment, also have a bit of work to do on the trailer, which was a caravan in its former life! with the craft sat on it, theres no nose weight at the min, so i might move the axle back a few inchs!

hopefully wont be long and it will be running, certainly by the summer!

Yes the sevs are really light in the front end,I almost flipped Mats scout over as I left the paddock at Berkley .

It was parked right behind the Osprey and as I powered up to move out I had a look behind only to see the front end of the scout 4foot in the air and Kip Mac jumping on top of it to keep it down http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_lol.gif

Well done Kip http://hovercraft.org.uk/images/icons/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif
