View Full Version : Fan frame mounts for Scat

Help.

One of the mounts to the fan frame on my Scat has sheared a bolt. (Otherwise known as "broke off when being tightened"). This therefore throws doubt on the durability of the other one as well.

They are described as a "Lord rubber engine mount M/M (and M/F) 3/8" - 16. (I would show a picture but everytime I try to reduce the jpg size photo I cannot save it in jpg which I understand is the accepted format. You can tell I am not a computer wizz.)

They are a two part sandwich mount.

Has any one by any chance got any lying about or know where they could be obtained?

I have looked on the Lords website, no luck, and also the Scat website and, yes, they seem to be available there but I don't know how long things will take to come from Singapore and I really need them for Jakes Place.

Hi Bob,

I had to saw them off on my scat and then replaced them with M10 metric ones which were easier to get from http://fish4parts.co.uk/index.php.

You will need to replace the nuts in the fan housing which are actually easier to get to than you think.

Sorry I don't have any spare 3/8" - 16 I had a look this afternoon.

Cheers Stu.

Could you please PM me your current e-mail address. Perhaps that is why you haven't received anything.

Thanks.

Bob,

try giving Dave Kemp a call, he uses LORD mtgs (type unknown) on the Toro craft. He can probably help.

Looking at the piccy,

couldnt you just remove the old item and use some threaded bar, with some rubber spacers?

The problem is now sorted and the craft repaired.

But very many thanks to all those who posted and sent me e-mails. I did take on board what you said but Roger Allman offered me the chance to replace almost like for like with bits he could get and could fit.

It is times like this that remind me that there are a considerable number of people in this club who are prepared to bend over backwards to help someone in trouble.

Many thanks again to all.
