Hi,

Has any one out there got a thrust duct to suit the maximum 5z blade length for the 12 blade hub?

I believe it to be 1160mm or 45.66ins in old money.

Regards,

Kip

you can buy 1200 odd ducts from ken! they are almost couple hundred quid tho!

kens stuff is good, but i have found with the ducts i have bought from him, that some extra strenght is require to make and keep them round!

also i think the max 5z diameter is 1260mm

I think he just wants a second hand cheapo duct to be honest. What you adding it to this time Kip??

He also has a couple of hundred years experience of building/designing craft so he has probably rung round the usual places to see if any old ducts are around.

Good luck on your quest Kip http://www.jonrb.com/emoticons/detective.gif

Hi Martin,

Unfortunately the mould you refer to is not the one I want.

You may remember that over the years we made the following ducts which illustrates the slow progression towards large duct sizes.

24ins/600mm 27ins.685mm 29ins/736mm 31.5ins/800mm 36ins/900mm 40ins/1000mm and 50ins/1270.

Every thing but the one I now want which is for the 12 blade max 5z size.

I still remember the time when a 900 mm duct was massive!!

Jon- Iam going to stuff a 3 seater under it for next year.

David - I have PMd you.

Go on Kip, stick a prop on it! You're gonna use a lift engine aren't you? If Owens craft was anything to go by, it'll go really well.

I just got back from my first trip with the 1500mm/35hp/7w set-up working properly... awesome! Towed a dead craft (2 stroke!) into a 20mph headwind and 4 knot tide and still made headway... 2.5mph !!!
