Modified 35hp engine eh. Wouldn't want to trust its reliability personally.

Great engine but no longer a Briggs and Stratton!!! there are more new parts than original. I have been doing some development for B&S UK over the last 6 months on the 35. On a dyno the '35' gives 31.7hp at 3550rpm and 30hp at 3800rpm, we did a large range of mods, inc cam replacement, ignition timing, exhaust changes and inlet mods, net result ......36hp at 3800rpm - 4100rpm. lot of work for no big gains.

Had the heads flow checked (at great expense) result...useless design, major re working is required to get reasonable flow.

End result project dropped, Americans take a standard engine throw most of it away and add new bits, heads are retained but major gas flow work and much bigger valves....save your money and stick with 31ish hp

I don't believe that uprated "briggs" is taking the market by storm. Most Americans are still into homebuilding and that is far too much money for the American homebuilder crowd to stomach. Always been that way, probably always will.
