Magnolls 2 will be covered live this weekend on www.live.raceresults.info (http://www.live.raceresults.info) starting around 11am UK time on sat, sun and mon. We've got a better internet connection and more cameras so hopefully an improved programme! Its wet underfoot so bring your wellies but the weather forecast is good for the weekend, so why not come on down - either in person or virtually.

The big sport this evening is watching to see how far into the field each camper/caravan gets before Charlie P has to tow them with his tractor!
We look forward to a great days racing tomorrow.

24-May-09, 03:00 PM
Craft cam :thumb:

it works!! it breaks up a bit, but its watchable :)

only downside, i can see, is glare. the cam suffers a bit trying to adjust from

direct sunshine, to dark sections, and vice versa.

Prehaps sunglasses for the cam?

24-May-09, 03:01 PM
Hi Keith

Thanks to James for giving me a lift around the circuit. It was great fun to be on board.

25-May-09, 12:01 PM
F1 ooo cant wait. !!!!! :D On board footage, yes, I like. :D

25-May-09, 12:14 PM
the on-board camera is a bit shakkkkky but I guess that is because of the fan vibration, maybe if the driver could have it on his head, and if you ask him to be a camera man as well as a driver, he could get some great footage.

Keith Oakley
25-May-09, 12:24 PM
Just spoke to David Leakey (the driver) he thought it was a bit challenging trying to point the camera and drive! But thanks - I think the camera mounting is getting loose.

I had some good feedback today from one of the guys at work.. said it was very impressive although the Barry cam is sometimes looking at the grass.. on a whole, excellent and can't wait to watch Rother valley

Keith Oakley
29-May-09, 08:25 AM
Yes its a fundamental design prob - we humans spend our time looking down at the ground! I did think of a Gyro stabiliser on Barry's head but...

I suppose the good news was you could make out it was the ground - there was less of the picture breakup than the previous week and when we were on the main camcorder the picture quality was better. Thats due to the better internet connection via Peaches ADSL, thanks Charlie and Karen.

I've now looked at the website traffic stats for Magnolls2. Viewers peaked at 33 on monday - versus 52 for Freiburg but as someone said many of the Frieburg viewers were at Magnolls2. The stats were:
GB 82.7%
USA 7.2%
Canada 1.7%
Netherlands 1.6%
France 0.6%
Ireland 0.7%
Barbados 0.3%
China 0.3%
Australia 0.3%
Slovenia 0.2%
Germany 0.2%
New Zealand 0.1%
India 0.1%
Uruguay 0.1%
Kazakhstan 0.1%
Russia 0.1%
Mauritius 0.1% (Atters seems to have moved offshore!)
plus Norway, Belgium, Greece, Lithuania, & Spain with 0.1% each

So for the first time we have at least one viewer in each continent (except Antartica)

Hi Keith,

Will the recorded footage be out on line to watch from Magnolls 2?

Keith Oakley
29-May-09, 01:27 PM
Yes but I'm having problems uploading 1.5Gbytes of data due to faults on my BT broadband line which limit it's speed at present. I'll post when I've managed it.

30-May-09, 07:30 AM
