I ahve a hovercraft built by the "Light Hovercraft Company" UK.

It has a Rotax 640 thrust engine and a 200cc lift engine.

I was wondering if anyone has heard of this company or knows anything about it.

That was Lindsay Gatward of East Grinstead Sussex. Started in '68 with a foot propelled crinoline skirt craft that enabled you to walk on water. Manufactured and sold several Nigel Beale designs (eg Cyclone) in the early '70s then went on to make a no of innovative self designs. Faded away around 1980? Kip McCullom and Martin Dougall will both tell you much more, they made most of his craft.

Yes Lindsay is still around... He has a couple of vids on YouTube of his latest 'Spirit' Hovercraft.

Before that he constructed the Freedom / Phantom 6 - a dual duct integrated craft which ended up with a lift engine. I think it turned up on eBay a couple of years back.

His website with some interesting pics of his earlier craft from Light Hovercraft Company days including the Phantom 6:

Thanks for the info, it is not going at the moment, it is in storage.

The thrust engine was overhauled a number of years ago and is still in good condition as it was well oiled on storage.

I was in the process of converting to a finger skirt, eventually I will get back to it.
