My husband's 50th birthday is fast approaching and the only thing he has said he would like is to drive a hovercraft! I have only been able to find stag-type days out for boy racers on hovercraft. Could you help me find out how I could organise a more sedate and rewarding hovercraft drive for him, perhaps on a bigger hovercraft? Any ideas?
Many thanks

Where are you in the world?

Be warned, if he likes it, and he WILL, he will never let you forget it that it is your fault for letting him play with one when he comes home one day with a whacking big craft behind the car!

Your own fault "Gabso"!!!!

You will find loads of us would be more than willing to help you out, just depends where you are.

All the best,

Brian.

Thanks for responses so far- we live in London but could travel for this treat. I am a complete hovercraft novice, so can you let me know what sort of craft you are offering and where you can drive it? Presume idiocy on my part. Thank you so much Hovercraft Club Members.

MY Craft is 5.5mtrs. I am in Lochcarron near Skye. Link below to one of the many videos I have on you tube, but this one shows the craft being tested after some alterations to the skirt. There are other videos on my you tube channel showing the area that I use my hover.

I am up in Darkest Sheffield but there are a good few members on the south coast as well as a few companies.

I would have thought you would be better finding a private owner so you will not be so restricted for time and cost.

It depends on how far you want to travel.

I am sure a few will be here soon, probable not the racing side as their craft are highly(!) tuned and depending on the formula will be single "seat". Having said that there are some 2 seat craft out there which would be perfect for this use but we are spread out.

Someone will be along soon I have no doubt, anything to "play" with our toys!

Good luck,

B.

Take him to the isle of wight for the day on the hovertravel hovercraft?

This would be ideal, but would they let him drive?
