Dear fellow HCGB members
We met 2 weeks ago with the National Water Sports Centre(NWSC) and it turned out to be a very useful meeting of minds.
NWSC have offered us in principle the free use of their excellent facilities with the exception of hotel rooms and the bar where they do expect payment!
Anyone with a race meeting wrist band on may use all their changing shower and general fascilites, cafeteria etc and they will both support and assist us in making a joint application for a combined major event.

Their view was that if we combine the application the local police and council will take a more favorable approach and would be unlikely to make any objection.
They have asked us to join them in this application and are making it very clear they want to suport us! What a pleasant change to have someone who wants us to turn up!
There has been one compromise we needed to make- the 2-4 June is the biggest event on the NWSC calender and they already have much difficulty with traffic control. so NWSC have asked us to move the EHF event to the 9th and 10th June and hold our national event over the bank holiday weekend.

HCGB feels that a 3 day national event is appropriate and this also helps those who may not be able to get that second bank holiday off work

In return for this NWSC will lay on the following specifically for HCGB during the midweek period;
under 16 sailing coaching day
under 16 dragon style racing (min 16 entrants needed)
water skiing
wake boarding
dads and lads assult course event
white water rafting
a live rock band evening and BBQ set along side the grandstand finishing line on the main course -right next to the bar!
Additionally we are planning a world speed trial event for all the different classes of craft, an endurance race event and the crusing fraternity are planning on and off site events.

If there is demand we will lay on coach trips to local features like robin hoods major oak, the oldest pub in Britain the trip to jerusalem, Nottingham caves, forest road east evening cruise, and Nottingham castle.

We are discussing with other interested parties some other special features which may or may not come off.
Those who need ot return to home/work midweek but want to come back to the EHF event will be able to leave their camping units/ hovercraft etc on site and secure as there will be plenty of members staying on all week.
the site will be locked every night for the greater benefit of all.

well that's all for now.

see you at Jakes

We'll definitely be there for the whole week and we've already booked holiday time from work. :D
