Hi all,

Met with the county council SAG (safety advisory group) today to review the event.

All went well,no objections and agreement in principle on signs this time!!
there were about 20 people from everywhere from police to road management, licencing to food hygene, fire brigade to environmental.
But the benefit of the things we do like noise monitoring (they really liked the fact we black flag craft), marshals with radios and fire fighting equipment, proffessional first aid, a health and safety officer and risk assessments really was well received.
I know they were left with a firm impression that we are a credible organisation and they agreed I need not attend a further review meeting but can co ordinate with several of the relevant authorites on a devolved basis.

So its all good stuff.

We have been having some "issues" with the endurance event -cost/ timing/ rules, but these look to be behind us now.
A couple of key members are working hard on the speed record event and i feel this is also going to work out ok for official status for the record books.
The link to the web site is now up on the whats on - but we are just finishing off a provisional programme (in between a busy time at work with IT stuff we are in the middle of) -should be up by next week. For now theres nothing in about 2012.

I will post a new item when we have got it done.

Well done indeed!

I have always thought/known how professional the club is, never fails to impress me!

I am really excited about attending this event, fantastic.

Hi there and welcome.

Are you planning on bringing a craft?

Firstly you will need to join our merry club. This will give you access to the construction regulations for racing craft that are in the members area. The craft must conform to these regulations to be able to race.

Each participant will have to pass a drivers test which is carried out before practice.

If you have any other question please do not hesitate to ask!

India isn't currently part of the World Hovercraft Federation so you may need to contact the WHF Secretary, Christel Martens;

Franciscusstraat 41
6681 VP Bemmel
The Netherlands
Tel: +31 481-450471

worldhovercraftfederation@planet.nl

Construction regulations are now common to the WHF, EHF and HCGB so compliance with any of these will be OK.

The week consists of a 3 day race meeting held under HCGB rules, two days of non-racing socialising, two days of speed trials and endurance racing which fall under World Federation rules and the final two days are racing under the European Hovercraft Federation rules. If you need advice about any of these please contact me by PM, or email the relevant secretary (see the websites for details). The racing rules are largely the same, but there are slight variations between them all.

As Keith says, if you do come to the event with a craft we'll do everything we can to help you take part, however it is worth talking to us first about your hovercraft so that we can make you aware of the possibilities and any potential problems - that way you won't be disappointed.

Hope to see you there

As Kevin has said above, we would love to see you there.

If your craft is suitable, a river cruise is planned on either the Tuesday or the Wednesday of the week.

Hope to see you there.

Russ Hudson, Jon Spedding and Jake Cooper are investigating the route and we should be able to give more accurate details shortly.

Hi,

we plan to record the best time trials on a by class basis eg F1,F2, FS, F3,F50, F35, ditto juniors (probably not an F1 juniors though!), and we can do a cruiser class if a few craft dont fit into any of the above.
