A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIRPERSON

May I take this opportunity to welcome you to the Hovercraft Club of Great Britain.

As Chairman of the Club I am unashamedly promoting the various aspects to you. Whatever your interests you should be able to find some kindred spirits, advice and assistance. Whether you are a recreational user, racer, radio modeler or even a research and development guru, we have members who will share their expertise. We have people developing electric man carrying craft, which are designed to be ultra-efficient and thus quiet and capable of good racing and cruising performance. We have a core of people who are mad keen on cruising, and some who are just mad and race. There are some very clever modellers who are using all sorts of skills in making scale replicas of existing craft and some that are developing new designs and new ways of making components.

If you do not, or cannot, possess a hovercraft but still want to be involved, come along to our events and get involved in the back room tasks such as marshaling, lapscoring, manning the gate, commentating, helping with social media, membership, safety, and just helping out with the minutia of an event. Explore this website for event dates and plan your year around these calendars. Come and see what we get up to, camp with us and relax! What attracts people to the club is often the family orientated, friendly ambience.

We have international members who enjoy the camaraderie of the club and we see them at European and International race meetings. We are members of both the European and World Hovercraft Federations.

As the most influential British hovercraft club we are a national club, however, we organize the events within our regional branches, these meet monthly to discuss hovercrafting in its various guises and are social events. This is where you can make the contacts to help you with your journey in this fascinating sport.

I look forward to welcoming you to our Club.
