Iam a enthusiest but have not purchased a hover yet. they are just starting to catch on over here. My time out on the water is spent in a 13'9" gheenoe with a trolling motor for propulsion. However I have become a authorized affilate for HovPod Reaction International Limited. My ltimate plan is to promote and sell enough hovpods to purchase a demo or 2 then show them around. I work full time driving a truck so this is a sideline for me. I feel the best way to be a promoter is to become as involved with hovercraft and hovpods as possable. This means talking with enthusiests such as yourselves whom can provide insight into the sport. There are some enviromental regulations here in south carolina that prohibits air powered craft seaward of the freshwater saltwater dividing line so I am going to work with state authority to convince them that hovercraft are less damaging to the enviroment then jetskis. Thats a big challenge to get a change in laws over here got a lot of rich people on the coast, they do not want there life disturbed bt noise! gotta work on the misconception that they are like a airboat which come in contact with the surface and use aircraft engines. I think once I have a hovpod available for demo they the legislature will see that they can be used down here with out damaging the enviromant.

    Hi There

Now theres a part of the world I love! Lay a Raid on and we'll be there liek a shot!

Are you sure that a noisy integrated two stroke is the way forward for trying to change the minds of authourities? I would think you'll havbe better luck with a 4 stroke Sevtec style craft if thats your aim. They are, i'm reliably informed, whisper quiet if built and set up well.

Just my pennies worth! Good luck, i know how hard it can be dealing with the mindless little beauracrats that infest daily life. teh fun police here get stronger every year....

    Regards and welcome aboard

    Russ

what type of hovercraft are you refering to? remember we have no hovercraft at all over here! "with a 4 stroke Sevtec style craft if thats your aim. They are, i'm reliably informed, whisper quiet if built and set up well." I think hovercraft might come in to popularity as time progreses over here.

    Find Sevtec craft here :-

    http://members.aol.com/sevtec/sev/skmr.html

    Check out also http://www.hovercruiser.org.uk

If you want to stay on the right side of the authorities regarding being enviromentaly friendly stick with a prop for thrust and a 4 stroke engine as fans and 2 strokes make a hell of a lot of noise in comparrison.
