what happens when you run a four stroke, on 2 stroke fuel?

will it produce less power? will it b**g*r it up?

If your talking straight fuel (petrol) nothing..

back in the old days ... 2 strokes ran on 2 star.. if it wasnt available then 3 star... then 2 & 3 star were phased out... leaving 4 star...

so you had no option but to run a two stroke on 4 star :)

then along came unleaded et al...

now i gues your meaning... what happens if i put premixed fuel (fuel oil) for a two stroke, in an engine that has a seperate non oil burning lubrication system...

smoke:) lots of blue smoke, as the oil gets burnt in the combustion cycle... it will be like running a car with knacked rings.. but you wont have loss of compression

your plugs will suffer, as they will be subjected to excess oil, so they will eventually foul (carbon build up)

depending on how much youve run, a good healthy dose of redex will help also

Nah, don't worry about it! I've stuck 2 stroke in my cars for years and never had a problem! Obviously its not something to do on a regular basis or if you have a super tuned up engine. Putting some in a half full fuel tank will dilute the mixture even more.

These days two stroke oil probably doesn't do your catalyst any good, - if you’ve got one.
