Default Shaft size and type of steel

    Hi all

Is there a general rule as to the diameter of steel rod used for fan/drive shafts and is there a particular type of steel to use e.g. stainless, carbon etc.

    Thanks

Default Re: Shaft size and type of steel

    Hi Pat,

all i did was give the old shaft to my local engineering firm. They did the rest...

the diameter was 30mm, to fit a 6206 bearing

    hope that helps
