Default Jet sizes and fuel mixture help?

    Hi all,

Its getting exciting now...just a few last things to do fefore ive got power running through the hover...

I was just wondering to all the Lucky people who have or have had a YAMAHA RD250LC engine in their hovercraft, what fuel/oil mixture did you use and what size jet size did you go for. I have currently got 230 jets and am going to use a 50:1 two stroke oil mix?

    Thanks

    Nick

To be safe I used to run 270s and 40:1

So with 270's and 40:1 that would make a very rich mixture?

I have read that having a rich mixture is better than having a lean one...but why?

Also which fuel does my engine take is it standard Unleaded or the substitute for leadead...I have forgotton and no one i have asked remembers either...oops.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    lean mixtures burn hotter...

hot enough to melt the spark-plug electrodes, burn valve seats and sometime burn a hole in the picton crown.
