    Default TZR water pump!

Im wondering instead of putting in a 12v water pump would there be any point in putting the gear, that turns the water pump, onto the shaft of the pulley that drives the fan. Drill the whole in the gear to the same diameter of that of the shaft on the pulley and spot welding it into place. Has this been tried, does anyone have any experience in trying this?

    Thanks,

    Ciarán

    Hi Ciarán,

I'm not aware of anyone doing exactly what you suggest though people have tried car water pumps driven of the fan belt. It you use the TZR pump how would it be lubricated?

Personally I'd go the electric route every time. They're reliable and will save you the cost of a rebuilt engine if the pioneering fails.

    Cheers.

    Andy.
