    I came across this in the paper today

    Interesting....



    In spite of what the "inventor" (or the press!) says this is nothing new - it looks suspiciously like a UH18SPW (a 1999 design) or UH19XRW from Universal Hovercraft. The wing struts, material, tips and tip "skis" look exactly the same to me. Only difference is he hasn't moved the rudders back to give good control (turning the rudders will deflect air flow away from the extended elevator making for some interesting effects (like crashing ).



    He could have saved himself 11 years work "and tens of thousands of pounds perfecting the design" and just bought a planset from UH for $112

    is that whats refered to as "wing in ground effect"



    didn't the Russians have a huge beast some time back
