    No seriously if i put my foot down and give it some beans i will be getting between 3.3 and 4.2 mpg so the trip computer tells me!

    what the #### are you driving??

    The lowest average I've ever seen in a car was 8mpg

    I think you're trip computer's knackered or your engine's had it chief. Even Mitsi Evo's have better MPG figures than that.

    its only when you red line it in every gear and really race it

    if you drive it under normal conditions you will get between 20 - 40mpg- i even got 55 coming back from a branch meeting the other day

    Oh okay, I should think most cars have figures like that when on full gas, I used to drive a 1.9 TDi (diesel obviously ) Audi and that did about 8mpg under hard acceleration. Never red lined it though, there was no point taking it there as the torque ran out way before.



    ETA: I had a Pug 307 2.0 HDi as well, that used to show 6mpg under hard acceleration, and 999.9mpg in top at 30mph

    Has anyone ever worked out what a hovercrafts mpg is at a race meeting? ( just bored at work )

    Obviously not including the distance to the meet as it should be on the back of the trailer!
