    Default morrison bio-diesel

well, noticed this evening that morrisons have changed thier pumps down hear, and are now selling a 'bio-diesel' and its the same price as normal diesel!!!

this stuff is based on a 30% mix of reprocessed hydrocrabon based oil 'waste oil' so its really a deisel blend, not a true biodeisel, and meets the requirements of EN590.

ITS THE SAME PRICE! and having had a chat with customs, due to its nature, the same tax is payable as normal deisel

im glad i didnt put any in as chucking this ontop of 20 litres of veg oil might not have been the best option!

however next time i go by, i am going to buy a couple of litres and do some low temperature tests to see the effect of low temp on the viscosity of the fuel! (which i have done to get the blend i run at the min).

anyhow, thought this might be of interest to some of you, and if you think about putting it in your vehicle, i would think twice if you have common rail injection!

    Personally I think its worse...

BTW, a couple of my mates run their cars on DERV because one of them has a haulage company with a DERV tank & pump. He also sells it to his customers, Apparently the cars acheive better mpg and performance!

They probably also get lower emissions due to the strict nature of new truck emissions requiring better fuel!

    P.s. its Diesel ('i' before 'e' except after 'c' )
