HOVERCRAFT CLUB OF GREAT BRITAIN Forum Rules
Registration on this site is free! We do, however, insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below.
These forums are provided as a service to the hovercrafting community by the Hovercraft Club of Great Britain (HCGB). The open forums are open to everyone, regardless of whether or not they are members of the HCGB. The club member’s areas are restricted to members of the club. The same rules apply to the open and club member’s areas.
Although the administrators and moderators of HCGB will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages at the time of posting. All messages express the views of the author, and HCGB cannot be held responsible for the content of any message. HCGB reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.
You must be 13 years of age or older to use this forum. If you are at least 13 but not yet 18 years of age, please have your parent or legal guardian review these rules and conditions, discuss any questions you might have, and give you their permission to register on this forum with both your and their full understanding of the rules. By using this forum, you are telling us that you and your parents or guardian have agreed to this.
If you are a parent, or a guardian, you are responsible for exercising supervision over your children's on-line activities. If you do not agree to these rules or conditions, do not let your child use this forum. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under 13 and believe that he or she is using this forum please contact us.
All rights reserved. By posting on this forum you grant HCGB and its successors and assignees a non-exclusive irrevocable right to re-use your posting in any manner it or they see fit without notice or compensation to you. No material contained in this site may be republished or reposted without express written consent of HCGB except that forum users retain the right to republish or repost their own work.
HCGB wishes to encourage hovercrafting activities and forum members are encouraged to post information, photographs and videos about hovercrafting. An element of product placement or advertising that is relevant to hovercrafting within such postings is permissible, providing it is incidental to the posting and not the main element of it. HCGB reserve the right to remove any posting that is simply an advertisement. Facilities for commercial advertising are available on the main club site and personal adverts can be posted in the “Hovercraft stuff for sale” area.
Keep in-line images small. As a rule of thumb you can attach pictures up to the maximum allowed but don't include the images in the body of the messages if they are over 640 pixels x 480 pixels.
When posting you should be polite - anything more than light hearted "ribbing" will not be tolerated. Bear in mind that these forums are used by people of all ages so don't use language that will offend. Your comments should be reasonable and in a tone befitting a sporting club such as the Hovercraft Club of Great Britain.
Discussions on the best way of doing things are an essential part of these forums and debates on hovercrafting matters are welcome. However personal attacks are not allowed. If you take issue with the tone or content of any posting you find in the forum please report the matter privately to an HCGB moderator. Please do not take it upon yourself to issue a rebuke – such action could in itself be deemed insulting or rude behaviour. It is for the forum moderators to rule on what is or is not permissible.
Any insulting or rude behaviour will lead to removal of the offending posting. Persistent offenders will be suspended or banned from the forum. In more serious cases HCGB will cooperate in any defamation or libel actions to identify and name the individual(s) involved.
By registering for the forum you accept these rules and warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, rude, or otherwise violate any laws. As part of the registration process, you hereby agree to provide accurate and complete address and contact information in your profile. Accounts containing unverified contact information are automatically deleted.
