Hi all

Just looking on EBay, I see pulleys in HTD (8mm) available up to 68 tooth (maybe even more).

The main thing I noticed about these pulleys is that they are aluminium and they are hollow (Kind of like a cup; shaft mount is via a flange on the back face)

Certainly alot lighter than a cast iron or even solid aluminium for that matter

Are these pulleys suitable for use in hovercraft (Driven pulley) or does the fact that they are hollow cause structral problems in them when transmitting large amounts of power (> 50Hp)

Also are the engine hp to belt with approximations the same in HTD as they are in H pitch/profile? Ie. 50mm for 50hp?

Thanks

Bruce
