Default advice for a new boy please

hi , ime not new to the club but have been dormant for many years ( decade ) been playing with hover craft locally for years , several eagles and odd thinks ect oh and a hoverhawk 118 ,

used to look after all the craft at hover-days near osweresty , as am engineer but i have never raced ,

    well nows the time

i have just got hold of a tzr powered bbv no gb 1408 with a log book ,

am looking to come and race this year if i can , i understand i will be novice and will have to marshal for a while as well ,

so i am looking for advice and information on who to talk to , how to get my craft scrutineer-ed and how to register ,

and i believe i will have to take a handling test ,

i have been looking on the site here but am finding it hard to navigate as i think i am asking my self the wrong questions

if any one can help then i would appreciate it

    thanks again ,,

    Welcome back then,

Easiest place to start is either at a local race meeting (but I'm afraid you have just missed this years season) or by attending a local branch meeting. Your in the middle around there are members in South Wales and North Wales, see the local branch map to find your most local branch which is easiest for you to get to. I would suggest either Midlands or the Blacks family would be easiest for you (but still a decent drive). They can then put you in touch with your closest members and scrutineer. There are regulations and guides on this forum to abide by for race events, alternatively you are welcome to join us in the North West for our next hover-in event between Christmas and New Year for a mess round, chat and brew or two.

Be good to see you around. just get in touch if you are struggling.

Thumbs up Re: advice for a new boy please

    Hi David,

The Northwest Christmas Hover-in is on December 27th at Magnol's Farm, near Blackburn. BB5 3RF.
We also have our Christmas meeting on Tueday night (6th December) I know it's a long drive for you but you will be welcome to join us. If you want any more information feel free to contact any of us, I can be contacted on 07704083608 most of the time, if I can help I will or give you the number of someone who can.

Craft looked well, take care and good luck

    Sean
