We are\nanticipating this event being popular. \n\nIf you only wish to attend one of the two days\, this is possible with prior notification. \n\nBooking your place is essential. Arrival and participation on the day without prior notice will not be possible.\nWe will confirm whether the event is going ahead on the Wednesday prior to the event so that we can have the\nmost accurate predicted weather conditions. \nPlease note that this is not an official HCGB event so all craft operators need to have their own insurance in place.  \nFull event details below: \nFRIDAY 18th SEPTEMBER: Manor Farm\, Field Dalling Road\, Binham\, Norfolk\, NR21 0DE (Camp Site)\nYou are invited to use our camp site. There is accommodation available for those of you who do not have a campervan. There are also showers\, toilet facilities and on site Wi-Fi in certain areas.\nArrival would be welcomed any time after 12noon. The camp site is a 3 minute walk from the local pub. \nSATURDAY 19th SEPTEMBER: North Beach\, Heacham\, Kings Lynn\, PE31 7AX (launch site for craft)\nLow Tide: 15:35 at Hunstanton\nParking at: Beach Road\, Snettisham\, PE31 7RA\n10:00: Depart from Manor Farm\, Binham.\nAll vehicles and craft to make their way to Beach Road\, Snettisham car park\, where you will find parking for all\ncampers and hovercraft trailers. Jeremy and his team will assist with 4×4 vehicles that will be able to transport your craft and trailer from the Snettisham car park site down the road to Heacham North Beach launch site\, as the access to the slip way\, although concrete is very steep and you would need a 4×4. Your craft will be unloaded and your trailer returned to the car parking area at Snettisham and again at the end of the afternoon\, your trailer will be towed by our team\, and you and your craft collected and towed back to the car park at Snettisham.\n11:00 – Arrive at Snettisham car park.\n11:00 – 13:00 – Craft and trailers requiring 4×4\, will be shuttled from Snettisham car park to Heacham Launch site.\n13:00: All craft ready to launch – Launch time for an organised cruise from Heacham North Beach launch site to Skegness. Approximately 18 nautical miles each way.\n14:00 – Craft arrive at Skegness.\nArrival at Skegness for fish & chips and a beer\, with an opportunity for a possible stop over to see the sights and explore.\n16:00 – Departure Skegness.\n17:00 – Arrival at Heacham North Beach launch site.\n17:00 – 18:00 4×4 to shuttle crafts and trailers back to Snettisham car park.\n19:00 – Arrive back at campsite\, Manor Farm\, Binham.\n19:30 – JT to host BBQ and beers at the camp site around a fire pit with some ‘rustic’ seating. \nSUNDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER: North Beach\, Heacham\, Kings Lynn\, PE31 7AX (launch site for craft)\nLow Tide: 16:10 at Hunstanton\nParking at: Beach Road\, Snettisham\, PE31 7RA\n11:00 – Depart from Binham back to Snettisham car park.\n12:00 – Arrive Snettisham – Jeremy and his team will assist with 4×4 vehicles who will be able to transport you and your craft and trailer from Snettisham car park\, down the road to Heacham North Beach launch site.\n14:00 – All crafts ready to launch – departure\, heading out in a south westerly direction towards Kings Lynn.\n15:30 – Arrival at Kings Lynn with a view to landing on the Kings Lynn Estuary embankments for a scenic walk around historic town and taking in its beautiful old architecture and grabbing a bite to eat.\n17:00 – Depart for Heacham North Beach launch site\, cruising back across the wash\, viewing the Holbeach Bombing Range.\n18:00 – Arrival Heacham North Beach with Jeremy and team on standby to shuttle you\, your crafts and trailer back to the car park to load up and return to camp or head for home. Should you wish to stay on after the event\, arrangements can be made.  This event is in conjunction with Sky Helicopters Limited\, who have kindly offered to be our camera ship for the weekend\, taking aerial footage and footage from alongside the craft while cruising. An excellent opportunity for some truly amazing action shots and video footage\, with the helicopter accompanying the cruise throughout. \nTechnical and Safety\nPlease note this is a private event to which all UK Hovercraft Cruising Enthusiasts are invited.\nTherefore\, it will be your responsibility to ensure your craft is stocked with enough fuel for each proposed trip and plenty of reserve\, as well as having your own insurance in place and ensuring that all safety equipment is present and in good working order. All craft will be operated at the owner’s risk.\nThe crafts will be supported by a safety craft which will be on standby\, and also a camera ship helicopter.\nDue to local council\, there are parking restrictions in place at the Heacham North Beach launch site\, which will\nprevent taller vehicles gaining access to the car park due to a height barrier. However\, those with 4×4 vehicles and trailers will be able to access this car park and go directly to Heacham North Beach. \nCovid 19: This needs to be taken into consideration in the current climate.\nWe must insist that if you are showing symptoms or have been asked to isolate for 14 days that you do not attend the event. We want to keep everyone safe in these strange times.\nDue to Covid19 Guidelines this event is limited to 30 people. Please advise on how many people you plan to have on your craft for the event.\nBooking will be first come\, first served.\nSocial distancing measures will be in place and there will be hand sanitiser available at the camp site. If you feel more comfortable wearing a facemask while socialising please feel free.\nWhen you confirm your place\, please supply all names and contact numbers for yourself and people in your party to comply with track and trace.\nYou will be asked to read and sign a risk acknowledgement and disclaimer prior to the event.\nVehicles: Participants will need to tow their craft the approx. 20 miles to the parking for the launch site – We will have a number of 4×4 capable vehicles and personnel to tow your craft from the car park at Snettisham to the launch site at North Beach\, Heacham. The slope will be too steep for a vehicle without 4×4 capability to tow a craft over it\, to the slip way. These teams will be on standby all day and will also be able to assist on the return from the cruise back to the Snettisham car park.\nLaunch Permits: These are essential but can be obtained from Alive Oasis in Hunstanton. DESCRIPTION:The British Hovercraft Company in association with the Hovercraft Museum invites you to their Lee-on-the-Solent Cruise.   \n11am Launch from the Hovercraft Museum\, the museum will also be open on the day and their collection available to view\, including the last SRN4 \nLimited to 15 craft please info@britishhovercraft.com 01304 619820 \nPlease note that this is not an official HCGB event so all craft operators need to have their own insurance in place.  Please read on for full event information: \nWhilst we are hoping for good weather (this is English weather by the way) we can only judge on the\nday and would be foolish to predict beforehand. With this in mind we are planning to launch from\nthe museum slipway and head to Fort Gilkicker with the intention to then head around to Gosport.\nShould the weather be conducive we may have the opportunity to cross The Solent. This is “A Big IF”\nas we all know The Solent can be even on a calm day some of the roughest water in the UK.\nShould this not be available to us we would head back up The Solent as far as Hamble Common\nBeach. With the return journey this would be covering over 30KM in one day – not a cruise to be\ntaken lightly. \nTherefore we would ask that every one attending abide by the “terms & conditions” and make sure\nto the best of your knowledge that your craft is capable of this journey. Whilst we have the support\nvehicle available to us it is purely as support and not designed for rescue. \nThe Hovercraft Museum have been very kind in allowing us to use their facilities (parking & toilets)\nand have allowed us entry on the day as part of the £10 fee (all monies go direct to The Hovercraft\nMuseum). \nBHC\, whilst not accepting responsibility will also be available to assist in any repairs (to the best of\nour knowledge and ability) should anyone need us too. \nWe look forward to a great hover event and hope to see you all soon. This will be the first of many\nevents held by BHC and all will be major events – The English Channel crossing for 2021\, Race\nmeeting sponsorships\, race team entries and sponsorships\, Solent crossing(s) and even the crossing\nof The Irish Sea. \nHappy hovering\nThe British Hovercraft Company. \n  \nLee on the Solent cruise conditions \n All participants must prove their insurance cover before the day by electronic mail or on the\nday (This will only be kept on record for the day of the event).\n BHC accept no liability for any 3 rd parties’ actions that are against the briefing given on the\nday of the cruise.\n Every craft owner is responsible for their own craft.\n The support vehicle is given as a support vehicle only and whilst will give every assistance\navailable we cannot accept responsibility for any participants craft.\n The Hovercraft Museum are purely a 3 rd party host and are not liable for any part of the\ncruise other than hospitality. Parking whilst secure is still at owners’ risk.\n The crossing from the slipway is a public highway and as a group we will be safe with all\ncrossings but again it is down the owner in question to be responsible for their own safety\nand assisting in any activities.\n Each participant will pay £10 of which all will go to The Hovercraft Museum as a thank you\nfor their hospitality and towards the upkeep of the museum. Please note there is a rescue vehicle jet ski) with us on the day.\n4) We will be the only users of the slip as it is closed to the general public so there will be an\ninspection at the end of the day and everyone will be responsible for helping make sure everything is\nleft immaculate.\n5)There will be no toilet on the slipway but there will be open approx. 150m up the coast and this\nwill be highlighted on the day. We ask everyone to take care when using the facility and abide by\nsocial distancing measures.\n6) Parking will be on the slip and whilst it is not “secure” there will be no other vehicular access.\n7) Whilst the plan to launch is for 11AM the return is scheduled for 4PM and this giving us an hour to\nload and clear the slipway.\n8) The hovercraft Museum have kindly offered us a discounted entry fee of £6pp on the day but\nbetween 11AM launch and 4PM return I feel there will be little time to explore the museum on the\nday.\n9) Everyone will be asked to please pay attention to the briefing on the day and above all…\nENJOY…
